Kim Pease Professional Bio
Kim Pease began her career in the entertainment industry in the late 80's as a
makeup artist apprentice, working on such films as Steel Magnolias with Julia
Roberts, Sally Field, and Dolly Parton, and Blaze with Paul Newman. She called
her free-lance venture Faces Inc. Over the next twenty-five years Kim has
worked on dozens of films & television productions and with many Academy
Award and Grammy-Winning artists like Linda Davis (“Does He Love You”) , Mickey
Gilley, and Tommy Sims (writer of “Change the World” and more) . She has also
worked with music producers including Dave Gibson of Sunshine Records and
Whitney Kaane of Kobalt Records ("This Kiss" by Faith Hill). Most
recently, Kim has worked on makeup for outtakes of the 2013 MTV Movie Awards
and internationally-acclaimed “Toys in the Attic”. Her commercial and couture
looks have been published both nationally and internationally and have been
featured in award-winning artistic tours. Last Winter, Kim was also the featured
make up artist and guest judge for a regional America's Top Model Event.
Through the years, Kim has reached far beyond the role of makeup artist by helping connect models and
photographers, actors and filmmakers, and even mentoring and promoting local
singers. After moving to Northwest Arkansas (NWA), where her opportunities as a
makeup artist seemed to come to a halt, her focus shifted to making
connections....at first, in hopes of creating more makeup jobs for herself! She
refused to be called an agency and chose instead to be called the anti-agency,
fearing the negative stigma associated with small town talent agencies. It
didn't take long for word to get out that things were happening in NWA. Soon
Maggie Buehrer, the new faces director of Wilhelmina Models, reached out to
inquire about the rumors. Ms. Buehrer quickly became a mentor for Kim and
taught her to scout, develop, and represent talent as a national placement
agent from a small community. This brought about the evolution of Faces, Inc.
to Faces Inc. Agencies.
The following years brought success for Kim as a placement agent and development coach. She now has
talent signed to dozens of contracts across the globe, including agents and
directors with Rock of Ages, Cover Girl, Beals, Disney, and Vampire Diaries.
Several of her talent are on MGM Studio’s casting directors’ favorites list.
FIA has seen its talent on Dove and Blue cross ads, Toys-r-Us videos, Mystery
Diagnosis, House, Breaking In, Unusual Suspects, Kanye West, Jay Z, and Common
Videos, & Home Shopping Network. They have been in many regional and
national publications including 3 national covers and Therapon's National web promo.
FIA talent has been in dozens of films, some featuring actors such as Cuba
Gooding, Jr , Kevin Sorbo, Corbin Bernson , and Eric Roberts, and they have
sung and walked the runway in live performances for crowds boasting over
10,000.
Kim has also helped promote events for the likes of Jack Ingram, Emerson Drive, and American Idol's
Lauren Grey. The talent she has trained and mentored hold over 200
national awards in acting, modeling, singing, and dance. Faces Inc Agencies
holds 3 national Agency of the Year Awards for Excellence, but the statistic
Kim is most proud of is her call-back success rate. For the past two years, her
success rate has been over 96%; this year so far it has been an unheard of
100%!! The national average for event call-back is 2%. This measure reflects
Kim's success in properly scouting and training her talent. Almost EVERY person
FIA submitted to national agents at least received call-backs... that equals
respect from the agents and managers, which in-turn equals more opportunities
for her talent!
While scouting and training for national markets, Kim was upset about the amount of amazing local
talent in NWA vs. limited outlets for opportunities. Two years ago she opened
the NWA Talent Society to nurture and promote the local entertainment industry
through networking, resourcing, and education. Since then Kim has cast, co-produced,
and assisted over 250 films and productions. Kim also founded and facilitates the NWA Film
Forum, which has proven to be a valuable catalyst and resource for the local
film industry. To further ensure the local market is privy to major market
standards, she has brought in major market contacts to assist in education and
to help local talent compete on a higher level. Heather Laird, casting director
for Winters Bone (Jennifer Lawrence), gave a workshop on On-Camera acting. Paul
Weber, former head of casting for MGM studios and current owner of his own
production company, has come in to speak on getting ahead in auditions and what
casting directors look for in auditions. He and Kim have worked together to
include Arkansas in castings for the booming Southeast region as local hires.
This is huge. On the music side, she has had talent on both Sony & Capital Record's 'to watch' list and recently hosted an open event with local musicians
and the owner of 1961 Records who produces for Rhianna, Demi Lavoato, Diddy,
Kelly Clarkson, and many more.
Kim Pease is also the Regional Director for Arkansas Movie Maker's Organization, State Director for
agm talent productions, Program Director for upcoming NWA Mall Fashion Camp ,
and a judge for the International Filmmaker's Forum. The CEO of Hannover House,
Wal-mart's largest video supplier, " Kim has a reputation of getting the
job done and doing it right! "
